And they play at different levels - which made it possible to expand MCERL with engines that can be used at any level of chess needs and sophistication. When adding more engines to this MCERL release, I was guided in my selection to take chess engines that play in an interesting style (MadChess), have unique capabilities (Rodent) and history (ExChess), and stand out from others (OliThink). I'm happy to welcome the Oldie goldie chess engines ( example ). Currently, we already have 116 engines classified on our ranking list. MCERL has grown again, adding another 29 chess engines. The month that has passed since the last issue of MCERL has been a busy one in chess engine rating games. ![]()
